Progress here at Onix Central! The latest version of our Publishing Manager is available to buy and download. It’s still only £315 per user license despite us adding more title management goodness to it.
There’s a new manual to go with this release. Even if you’re not yet enjoying Onix Central Publishing Manager, the manual is worth a read if you’re hoping to learn about Onix, or trying to become Onix compliant. Download the pdf here, buy a hard copy here or look at the flippy format below.
We’ve mentioned before that we’re thrilled our title management software powers the Blackwell Espresso machine. We’re delighted that Blackwell are also using the Onix Central Publishing Manager in their daily operations to manage title data and feed catalogues and other marketing materials. For instance, our XML processes created Blackwell’s Christmas catalogue, saving hours of time and improving accuracy and efficiency.
Drop us a line if you’d like your next catalogue to take a fraction of the time it usually takes - and to look jolly beautiful too!
My presentation on how to automate catalogues went well at Tools of Change 2010 in New York. Video coming soon! In the meantime here’s my write up in The Bookseller of the event.
This short tutorial shows you how to set up default paths for images and other media within your Onix Central Publishing Manager. As ever if you would like to have your own free trial copy to play around with then please do just drop us a line.
One of the many set exports included in the Onix Central Publishing Manager is an XML export for the eHaus database that a number of publishers use to manage their websites.
If you would like a free trial copy of the Onix Central Publishing Manager to try for yourself or indeed you would like your own website fueled from your title information for a fraction of the cost of the eHaus solutions (about 1500 quid!) then again just let us know.
In the meantime, this is a short video tutorial showing you how to generate the XML file required for your eHaus website.
Onix Central will have three members of the team in New York from the 20th to the 26th of February. If any publishers would like an in person demo of our Onix Central Publishing Manager then just drop us a line and we can organise for you.
We will also be at Tools of Change for the duration. And our very own Emma Barnes will be doing a presentation on creating a catalogue (or indeed just about anything else) from the same Onix file that you send on to Amazon.
As well as our lovely video tutorials, we have a comprehensive written manual. Here’s an extract from it: how to export an ONIX record. Basically you click on a button, but in the manual we’ve gone into depth on the process here.
Onix Central’s Publishing Manager is going to be powering the utterly cool Espresso machine at Blackwell’s in Oxford. When they reported that Blackwell had bought it, the Guardian said that “the Espresso Book Machine could herald the biggest change for the literary world since Gutenberg invented his printing press more than 500 years ago.” We’re delighted and honoured that our software will contain all the title information and print ready documents ready for customers to select their book and have it printed just for them in moments.
