Why choose the Onix Central Publishing Manager?

1) The most complete Onix data

It may seem like (and it very probably is) overkill to be able to store information for up to five alternative publishers for any one title. But what if you want to tell people about a co-publisher, or a translation's original language publisher? Now you can.

2) The most complete store for all your marketing information.

With a whole module devoted to storing, managing and outputting your marketing texts in whatever form you need - and entirely configurable and fully Onix compliant - you need never be in a position where your back cover text is more than one click away from your main description.

3) Hold all the other media related to your title.

Store, manage, and export all the related images, movies and audio for any title. It makes sense to have everything in one place.

4) Use the handy Go menu to quickly navigate to the right part of the system

Click once to navigate between titles, contributors, royalties, rights, organisations, people, marketing, media... there are eighteen areas in all, and all are reachable with a single click.

5) Not just about Onix

As well as the most complete Onix software available (at any price), the Onix Central Publishing Manager also holds as much of your title, contributor and related information as we can possibly cram in. It makes no sense to have all your Author information for sending to Amazon or Nielsen and then have to open something else to check their email address - now you don't have to.

6) Manage retailer promotions in one place

Retailer promotions are at the heart of many publishing programmes. Avoid the duplication and confusion of shared Excel spreadsheets: the promotions management module in the OCPM brings clarity to this most important of areas. It allows you to create retailer promotions and attach titles to it. It allows you to set a title-level marketing spend budget then split that budget over various retailers' promotions. It tracks sales performance, retros, discounts, terms and orders.

7) Take a title from cradle to grave

From the point of submission to receiving remainder orders, the OCPM allows you to manage every part of the publishing process. Yet despite being incredibly comprehensive, the interface is clean and simple. A bit of attention to detail in our design approach goes a long way towards making data management straightforward and, dare we say it, enjoyable.

8) Context sensitive information

From the ubiquitous Help function which contains definitions of every ONIX field to the conditional formatting of many text fields (they turn red if you go over the allowed word count) the OCPM helps you to not only store your data, but get it right, too.

9) Exchanging your information with others

Onix is, of course, important but you may have requirements to provide files in all kinds of formats. So, the Onix Central Publishing Manager will import and export information in just about any common file format. And to make life just a little bit easier, we have built in buttons which export (to PDF) lovely AIs/Title Info sheets, as well as the ability to produce Excel files at the click of a button for uploading directly to Amazon Advantage and others.

10) Enter once and use as many ways as you can come up with

Let's be blunt: it is a pain to clean up, verify and complete your title information to become Onix compliant. So, it makes sense to use that same information in as many ways as possible to reap the benefits. You can populate your website; generate your catalogues; update retailers and so on. The Onix Central Publishing Manager is built specifically with this in mind with set outputs for catalogues, websites and many other sales and marketing tools. We even provide pre-configured Excel exports in the precise format stipulated by the major retailers including Amazon, WHSmith, Waterstone's and Borders.
